In May of 2007 SWEET disembarked on the long flight across the Atlantic Ocean to undertake a short tour of Brazil. Arriving at Sao Paulo Guarulhos International airport in the early hours, the band were treated to the lovely traffic before their arrival at the hotel for some well earned kip. Unfortunately due to adverse weather, the show in the Campinas region was cancelled so the band made their way to the next show. Hello Porto Allegre. Again SWEET deliver the set with full force and was duly noted by the fans. Next up, Curitiba. Well what can you say. The audience was probably the most crazy we have seen. From the opening riff of Hellraiser to the final crash at the end of Blitz it was mayhem of the best kind! What a show. Again due to matters out of the bands hands the show in Rio was also cancelled. A decision was made to travel to Rio De Janeiro anyhow. The band enjoyed two days of sight seeing and a visit to Jesus on the hill and the Maracana football stadium. A trip with both highs and lows but the boys will return again.

In the late spring of 2007 SWEET decided to undertake a jaunt with a twist. Revisiting the album Sweet Fanny Adams, and taking it back on the road. Included in the set were the songs, Heartbreak Today, No you Don’t, Restless, Into the Night, Sweet FA and Set Me Free. The short tour was well received by all audiences and once again SWEET continue to gain new fans of all ages.

PETE LINCOLN JOINS THE BAND
Peter Lincoln was born in Newcastle 15.03.1956 and has had a guitar in his hands for most of his life, and has made much of his living as a singer and musician, both on stage and in the studio.
Touring and recording with a wide range of artists including Sir Cliff Richard, Tina Turner, Shakin' Stevens and Danni Minogue has taken him all over the globe from New Zealand to Greenland.
During the last twenty years, Pete has also performed in excess of 3,500 solo gigs, entertaining audiences of all shapes and sizes at weddings, parties, social functions and dances.
These ‘human juke box’ performances show his extensive range of knowledge of Pop and Rock music from the late 50s to the present day, all delivered with style – and a sharp sense of humour!
On a more creative level, Pete has composed a diverse range of theme and incidental music for television programmes in the UK as well as song-writing for S Club 7 …… but then again - nobody's perfect!
For the last decade he has fronted the 70s band Sailor. This was a very happy period for Pete, however all good things come to an end, and the time came to move on to pastures new – and so to The Sweet.
Pete is absolutely delighted to be the ‘new boy’ in the band. He says “I always loved the music of The Sweet - such a fantastic set of hits. They seemed to be on TV all the time when I was growing up in the 70s, and they always provided me with some new guitar riffs to learn!”
So – here’s to many more happy years rockin’ with the band.
