Annual Sweet fan meet at Robin 2 Bilston

Following the recent departure of long time keyboard player / guitarist Steve Grant, we will spend most of the coming week in rehearsal to prepare for the next chapter of the story, beginning at The Robin 2, Bilston on Saturday 17th.

We are very excited to have the opportunity to unveil the newest member of the band at an event that has become an annual get-together for fans from all over the world.

If you want to be among the first to find out who it is, then all we can say is . . . "Be there!"

Steve Grant is leaving Sweet after 15 years. The band would like to express their thanks for his contribution and virtuosity on keyboards and guitar and offer their very best wishes for the future.
Steve wishes the band every success in the future.

would have been 64 today. Not one one of us back in the heady days of the 1970s could imagine what it would be like to reach such an age. Though musically the songs and his drumming in particular have stood the test of time. For forty years I have kept the Sweet flame burning, half of it on the road with Mick. There are many stories to tell, most of them hair-raising and hilarious and there isn't a day that goes by where I'm not reminded of one escapade or another. I will have these memories for ever and will cherish them. Mick you were my best friend within the band and there were times when I couldn't keep up with you but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

First three arena shows with the triple-whammy of Sweet, Smokie and Slade.  The bands were all made very welcome by extremely warm and enthusiastic audiences - helping to counteract the below freezing temperatures outside!.
the sweet at clipsal 500 2011
Followed by a flying visit to Australia for a couple of sellout theatre shows on the West Coast and then the Clipsal 500 after-race concert in Adelaide with the Doobie Brothers & Rogues Gallery. Big smiles from Andy and Pete when they were invited on stage with the Doobies to sing with them on Listen To The Music!

Then Straight to Switzerland for 3 sell out club shows for brilliant audiences that certainly helped make up for the jet lag. And finally a mad month of travelling was over but it was well worth it....
