Report by Rod Pope This is the first time that I had seen Sweet since they toured in 1995, and chose to go to the Sunday afternoon gig at the Kedron Wavell RSL Club. There have been a number of changes to the line up and the show since Andy and the boys last toured, in both the line up and sets the boys were doing. All in all I think the gig went very well. I believe that the audience was around the 600 mark, which I think was suprising to Andy and the boys. What was evident from listening to a number of the people at the gig, prior to the gig starting, was that many in the audience were expecting the original line up - and were genuinely suprised that there was only one original member of the band on stage. Funnily enough, I have struck this before, even when Brian's BC Sweet toured Australia and am not sure if this is a problem of communication on behalf of the promoters or for some other reason. In Brisbane, there was very little promotion of the concert, and I only became aware when I heard one of the local radio stations talking about the upcoming gig. It was not until I was inside the venue, seated that I saw any posters. Anyhow, the gig itself was, for my money, brilliant. A lot of people, on working out that it was not the original line up, seemed to be genuinely diisinterested intially, but really got in to it as the show progressed. What was also evident was that Andy and the boys really seemed to enjoy themselves, which added to the enjoyment of the show for all concerned. The crowd were particularly tickled by some clever renditions of australian classics on keyboards, and by the end of the gig a significant amount of the audience were on their feet dancing, either at the back or front of the venue. The audience really appreciated the boys taking the time meet, greet and sign autographs after what must have been a fairly long morning for them. For my money, a great gig, but I really hope that it won't be 9 years before they tour again. Cheers,

Report by Leigh Roe I grew up listening to the Sweet on the radio, so when I heard that they were coming to Kedron Wavell Services Club (I actually saw a poster at Col Joye and Judy Stone's show), I was really excited. This excitement was nothing however, compared to actually seeing the guys in person. I wish I'd been around to see the original line up, but A. S. Sweet rocks! I was captivated right from the opening song, Hell Raiser, and was soon up dancing (and taking photos). I loved the two songs I hadn't heard before, Burn On the Flame and Everything. I also loved the guys' sense of humour. Andy joked about finding a set list from the night before that had Tie Me Kangaroo Down on it! This was especially funny to me because I'd seen Russell Morris there the night before. As the set progressed more people got up, and I think most were dancing by the time Peppermint Twist finished. Every song was an absolute highlight for me, but Love Is Like Oxygen deserves a special mention because its interlude bit had been altered to include bits of You're the Voice, Waltzing Matilda and Tie Me Kangaroo Down! It was so cool!!! By the time of the encore (Ballroom Blitz), the roof had already been blown off the place! As soon as he finished playing, Andy came over from the other side of the stage and gave me his pick!!! (I'll be excited about that for the rest of my life!) Thank you Andy, Tony, Steve and Bruce for an amazing show!
The set list was (from memory):
