Windy Hill, Essendon Football Club Tues 14 Sept 2004
Wow, 29 years between shows for me is a long time to wait, but it was well worth waiting for. Very small venue, all seated, perhaps 200 there, front seats, bad food included in the ticket price of $55. Support band called 'Stand. were apparently called upon at the last minute, did a nice 30 minute set (heard a rumor that they had supported Kiss in the past) 9.30ish the 007 intro starts and stops and starts again then finally stops before the guys come on stage
Set list
Set lasted just over an hour, and all was spot on, small crowd but all seemed to have the best time and all wanted more. I went with my good friend who was a bit of a fan, he left being a huge fan and full of compliments for the entire band, he can’t wait for the upcoming Saturday night show! The show was a fundraiser for The Very Special Kids Foundation, a cheque for $22715.92 was presented by Andy after the show. Great effort from all concerned. A huge Sweet fan was on the table next to us, he wasn’t even born by the time of the 1975 Aussie tour, but he sure put me to shame with his knowledge and enthusiasm for Sweet and Andy and the boys. So come on White Mice, time that you stopped just reading this here board and that you register and have a chat with us kindred spirits!! It was great meeting you! I missed the Bert Newton Show this morning, if anyone taped it I would love a copy... Anyway it was a great show, much better than I expected, no merchandise there tonight (Steve told me that they thought it was not the right thing to do as the show was a fundraiser) will hopefully get some stuff on Saturday. Andy signed my Platinum Rare Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! (Report from Craig - 'Aussifan'). |
