Neon Psychedelia:
- Jimmy Lofgren - I'm a bit ambiguous about this one. On the one hand I find it the worst kind of metal cliché ( a la Kiss - like their answer to Kiss's "Psycho Circus" or something - or Cult where I would choose the latter if a gun were held towards my temple). But on the other hand I find that there's a bit of "deadpan boogie" in it too, and some of the - witty, witty - lyrics are quite funny (like some of AC/DC's can be....): "Neon Psychedelia, dream on, life's a gas". Quite hilarious if you're in the right mood... Wonder what the lyrics "it was the sweetest thing, and Queen was King" means...? 6/10
- John (VC10) - Ok a headbanging finish for the dandruff shakers out there. Windy City revisited but without the subtlety. not my fave but well executed all the same. 3/5
- Stef (myadrenaline) - Tip of the hat to Van Halen and AC/DC, nod to the glam rock metal rock lifestyle in general, footstomping chorus, Lots of references to other songs in here... I can't quite catch them all...
- Steve Goldspink (GoldenArm) - the deep churning guitar is the foundation for this competent, if a little uninspiring, song. Lots of guitar bits that scream "Sweet", if you've listened to enough of their tracks. As they say in the car ads "nice" 6/10.
