Never Say Forever:
- Jimmy Lofgren - Here's another one that touches upon the American AOR-concept, with bands like Toto, Foreigner, Journey, etc. A bit better than them though, although pretty "mainstream". 7/10
- John (VC10) - Oh Dear. That plastic, radio friendly, Hold The Line / Cold As Ice "pop rock" rears it's head again. Shame. Still there's a vintage Sweet vocal bridge into the chorus and a fab instrumental section to raise this from the mire of other records like this. 3/5
- Stef (myadrenaline) - bright keyboards, heavy riff & drums. Unusual vocal harmonies. Queen. Yes. Classic Sweet layered harmony -- really grabs your attention... then stops! acoustic bridge, Beatles-ish humming, crying guitar takes up the melody, then two guitars... back to the beginning. The humming that comes and goes simplifies a chorus where a lot of intense harmony is going on.
- Steve Goldspink (GoldenArm) - Toto's Hold the Line meets Love is Like Oxygen. Lovely harmonies and some nice looooong notes, plus the excellent instrumental section, lift this above the groups who could have done it. 7/10.
