Sweetlife - Your Track review....

Sweetlife Overunderture:
  • Jimmy Lofgren - Sweetlife Overunderture: another example of Andy's (?) humour, or/and a nod to some other bands (Queen, ELO), and perhaps to their own little interludes on "Levelheaded", Anthem no.1 & 2.... A bit of relaxation for the ears after "Neon Psychedelia" - perhaps intentionally - and perhaps a nice way to finish it off... Not too bad, some good instrumentation. But not too exciting either. 6/10
  • John (VC10) - Steve Grant's Rokestra goes into reverse with a classical fantasia based on Sweet life, Crazy and Airheads. A bit of studio fun but a filler on here. I think the album ended with the previous track. Like I said somewhere else on this board, if they needed an extra track they should have included Ressurrection Shuffle. 2/5
  • Stef (myadrenaline) - really does sound like an overture. borrowing from several melodies on the album on weird synthesized instruments... flute music, Moody Blues-ish vocals, Yes...
  • Steve Goldspink (GoldenArm) - having been introduced to Gilbert and Sullivan many years ago, I know all about the overture. Nice idea. Airheads, You're Crazy, Sweetlife and So Far So Good reprised in a "classic" mix. Leaves a Sweet taste in the mind at the end of a great CD. 7/10
