Hi all
I am pleased to be able to attend all but two of the
gigs on the Aussie tour. (I won't be going to the Bakers Creek
Tavern or the Essndon Football club gigs.) I am actually flying up
to Sydney in two hours from now. Looking forward to meeting all the
Aussie fans. (BelindaG, Aussie Fan, Sixteen Again etc.) You'll find
me selling the merchandise after the gigs, so please come and
introduce yourselfs. Gotta go now.

will definatley drop by after the campbelltown
gig and say hi....unfortunatley at this time, this is the only gig
so far that i know i'll be able to make for sure...

chrissie....rang from work from 9am but couldnt get
through...constantly engaged for about 20 mins and had to get back
to work....(they werent wrong when they said the footy show crowd
are a persistant lot!!!) but at least we can watch the show tomorrow
night...got my video ready!!
was nice to wake up to ballroom
blitz on the radio this morning ....thought i was dreaming!!!
however , it was just a small excerpt on a radio ad to promote a few
of the gigs....also saw a few billposters along the main road of
sydney advertisiing their gigs ....was very tempted to stop the car
and try and knock one off!!! also got some ads for their gigs from a
few local papers... just waiting until they've done a few gigs to
try and find some reviews to share...

As one who tries to foot herself in reality (ha ha), I
think I'll just have to settle to read the Aussie reports and look
at all your fine pictures from the gigs....

I just realised that if Sweet are on the Sydney Footy Show, we
won't see it here in Western Australia, as we get the Melb. Footy
Show - different code of football, for all you foreigners- lol.

In Melbourne we get the Sydney Footy Show shown
after the Melbourne Footy Show finishes (ie after midnight), I am
watching it now, they did a intro saying ...something like legendary
glam band "The Sweet" performing tonite........along with Aussies
Miss Universe and a bunch of Olympians etc
Half way through
(1.00am), still no Sweet, am sure it will be worth the wait, perhaps
Perth Channel 9 shows it after the Melb Footy Show
also?

Yep, was worth waiting up for, nice performance of
Blitz.
Tony sounded great (does he always do the wierd eye
movements?), Andy was on fire especially towards the end, new
hairstyle was ok too!
Half an hour to go, hopefully they will
close the show with Fox
1975-2004........a long time between
drinks for me :-)

We used to get the Sydney Footy Show after the Melbourne one here
in the West, but I checked the TV Guide, and it's not on anymore
here. Major bummer, because the band aren't travelling this far on
this tour....so I'll miss them completely. Unless Bert Newton or
Kerrie-Anne Kennerly has them on one of their morning shows. If I
remember rightly, they did perform on Bert's show last time they
were here. I vaguely recall Bert chatting withi Andy.

Stayed up and taped the show, interesting to watch Tony for the
first time. I thought he was cross eyed at one stage until I
realised he was doing funny things with his eyes. That made me sit
up and take notice at that time of the night.
I would say
fatty Vautin gave them a superlative intro and actually said he's
going to a lot of their gigs. Now maybe just show biz speak, but
they would have garnered a lot of publicity from that show.

 GarryO- is alive and well
I spoke to chief Sweet roustabout GarryO late last night, who
apologises for not posting yet but he's had PC troubles... However,
he said that the buzz the band had created around the TV studio,
just during their rehearsal, was huge. They actually got three
standing ovations from those present during each of their
'run-through' performances. Not bad given the usual cynical and
'too-cool' TV types we usually see. However, GarryO seemed far more
impressed by meeting Miss Universe- a good Aussie girl of course!
You lucky, lucky...
I also chatted to Bruce and Tony after
the show and they were very happy with the way it all went. Tony is
enjoying his first trip to Oz- although it seems all he has done is
drink beer until 4am and then stand around a TV studio all
day...Bruce sounded as upbeat as ever and they're looking forward to
their first gig tonight. It's rumoured they will play an old Angels
song and dust off an Australian-only single that made it to #1 here.
It's also possible that the guys will appear on TV again
with Bert Newton on Good Morning Australia. More on that
later.

Ah well that would explain Tony's cross eyes!
I agree fatty gave them a rave intro, infact he was more
animated about the Sweet than anything else that show.
